Tips on How Senior Adults Can Stay Safe During the Holiday 

As the holiday season rapidly approaches, seniors adults may be wondering how they can stay active and engaged and safe. While there are many different ways to enjoy the holidays, here are tips that can help seniors adults make the most of this special time. 

The holidays are a time for family, friends, and fun. But for senior adults, they can also be a time for safety and security concerns. Here are four tips to help seniors stay safe and healthy during the holiday season.

Senior Safety Tips

1) Stay social: The holidays can be a lonely time, but it’s important to stay social. Join in on family gatherings or visit friends and neighbors. Staying connected with others will help keep you happy and healthy during this time. If you don’t have family or friends, visit your local senior center they usually have a list of holiday activities

2) When shopping, be aware of your surroundings: It’s easy to get lost in the bustle of the holiday season, but it’s important to be mindful of your surroundings at all times. Avoid busy areas, stick to well-lit streets, and carry emergency contact information with you at all times.

3) Stay hydrated: Dehydration is common during the winter months, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Hot drinks like tea or coffee are also a good way to stay warm and hydrated during winter festivities.

4) Watch your diet: The holidays are a time for indulgence, but it’s important not to overindulge. This could lead to health problems down the road.
